EquineX Launches With a Start Into The Standardbred Space
EquineX is a groundbreaking software company that believes it can revolutionize the way we look at the world of equine athletes, through increased transparency and accountability to industry stakeholders and especially our horses.
Developed over the past 2 years by visionary and EquineX CEO Derek Ivany and Chairman, Paul Simmonds, the EquineX software platform will record and secure all veterinary records, including, all procedures, prescribed medications, injury diagnosis as well as any additional relevant medical information. EquineX has developed and will release two ground breaking apps for Trainers and Veterinarians this coming June. All records will be documented and saved on a SSL (or super secured) EquineX server.
With the recent federal charges (administering and misbranding performance enhancing drugs) brought against thoroughbred trainers Jorge Navarro,- $35 million earned in purse money, Jason Servis, trainer of 2019 three year old champion Maximum Security, Standardbred trainers Renee Allard, earnings in 2019 of $5,875,255 and Nick Surick, leading trainer at Freehold Raceway; the timing for EquineX could not be any better.
“These substances stimulated endurance, deadened nerves, increased oxygen intake and reduced inflammation,” William F. Sweeney Jr., assistant director in charge of the FBI’s New York field office said. “What actually happened to the horses amounted to nothing less than abuse.”
The health and well being of horses has come to the forefront and transparency and accountability across all aspects of a horse’s care is paramount.
Make no mistake, the entire equine industry is changing and EquineX is intending to lead the way.
Already on board for EquineX is Hall of Fame Standardbred trainer, Jimmy Takter, one of the most successful Standardbred horse trainers of all time. Takter, who captured four Hambletonians, eight Hambletonian Oaks and an incredible 34 Breeders Crown Championships, is a, founder, advisor and ambassador for the company.
EquineX does not stop there.
EquineX will be sponsoring a four race Championship series for four year old’s only, at The Red Mile, the second oldest Standardbred track in the world and home to the final leg of the Trotting Triple Crown, the Kentucky Futurity.
EquineX will put up $200,000 per race, for a total of $800,000, beginning in 2022. There will be two trot races and two pace races (male/female) with the male/gelding trot race being named “The Jimmy Takter Championship race” sponsored by EquineX”. The horse/gelding pace will be called “The John Campbell Championship Race” sponsored by EquineX.
For these four races, there will be no stakes payments; in order to qualify, each horse will be required to subscribe to the EquineX platform for a minimum number of months. EquineX is planning for this to be a five year championship series.
For a small monthly fee, the amount of information that will be available will help you, and more importantly, the entire equine industry, in ways we’ve never seen before.
